Syllabus JIPMAT is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to the five-year integrated BBA + MBA programme at IIM Bodh Gaya and IIM Jammu. The exam consists of 100 questions carrying 400 marks in total, with a +4/-1 marking scheme, and must be completed within 150 minutes. The syllabus is divided into three sections — Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension — each designed to assess a distinct set of skills essential for management education. QA - Quantitative Aptitude DILR - Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning VARC - Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension QA The Quantitative Aptitude section covers Class 10-level mathematics. It includes arithmetic topics such as percentages, profit and loss, ratio and proportion, time and work, and time-speed-distance, along with algebra covering linear and quadratic equations, geometry and mensuration dealing with shapes, areas and volumes, and basic statistics and probability. DILR The Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning section tests the ability to read and analyse data presented in tables, bar graphs, line graphs, and pie charts. The logical reasoning component covers topics such as number and letter series, coding-decoding, blood relations, direction sense, seating arrangements, syllogisms, and puzzles. VARC The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension section evaluates English language proficiency through grammar, error detection, sentence correction, para jumbles, fill in the blanks, and vocabulary-based questions. The reading comprehension component involves passages on diverse topics where students are tested on factual understanding, inference, tone, and vocabulary in context.
